Iām really disappointed with this toy fish. It arrived in a plastic bag without any instructions, and it was unclear whether the switch was in the off or on position. After charging it for around two hours and toggling the switch multiple times, it only moved its tail once. Thatās the extent of its movement. Now I feel like I’ve wasted my money on a non-functional toy that my cat shows no interest in.

My experience may differ from others, but the fish didn’t function as expected. Additionally, I wouldn’t recommend this as a toy for dogs due to the delicate nature of the “inner battery pack and movement arm.” Any dog that plays with it could easily damage it within minutes of chewing.

So, for my little cat’s first birthday, I decided to get another one, and she took to it immediately. Soon enough, her big sister also claimed it as her favorite. Now theyāre always battling over it, so Iām getting another. The little cat is a bit frightened when itās turned on but loves to snuggle and bunny kick it when itās off. On the other hand, the big cat is obsessed with it, whether itās on or off, and enjoys cuddling with it when itās not activated. Overall, this is an excellent toyāvery durable for cat play. The last one held up well despite their roughhousing, but it definitely isnāt suitable for big dogs.

We have two fish toys: an older one (Fish 1) that’s starting to lose its stuffing after three years, and a new one (Fish 2). Fish 1 flops vigorously and makes a loud squeaking noise that can be heard from another room. In contrast, Fish 2 is much quieter ā you can only hear it if you’re nearby ā and flops more gently. The battery life seems similar for both toys.
Our cat, an Egyptian Mau with an Omega personality, is friendly with people but not dominant around other cats. As a former stray, he has some dietary deficiencies that have affected his vision and caused osteopenia.
The high visibility and quieter flopping of Fish 2 are perfect for him. We have both fish toys on the rug, but he completely ignores the old Fish and only engages with the new one. Just this morning, he curled up to sleep next to it, something he has never done with Fish 1.
There are many fish toys available, but most look like Fish 1 with their realistic gray-black scale patterns. Fish 2 is the only one I found with a high-contrast design. I always suspected that our cat struggled to see the first toy on our patterned living room rug, but Fish 2 stands out, and he plays with it at least three or four times a day!
If you have a high-energy cat, Fish 1 might work fine for them. However, for our catās temperament and physical challenges, the new “Potaroma Floppy Fish Cat Toy” has been a much better fit. Good luck finding the right toy ā cats can be so picky!

It took my cat only 20 seconds to warm up to this toy, and now she can’t get enough of it every time I turn it on! š The catnip does need to be replaced after a while, but it has fantastic battery life and is an overall excellent value for a cat toy!

This product should be priced at no more than $9.99. I’ve had two of these in the last six months, and the charging cable frequently disconnects unless I wrap it tightly. The plastic tail flip mechanism is prone to failure; I’ve had to use parts from the other one to make repairs. The connection point between the servo motor and the thin tail section tends to break easily. It’s frustrating to even think about purchasing a third one. While the quality of the fish itself is decent, the zipper definitely needs improvement.

I purchased this for our puppy, and he enjoyed playing with it. However, he ended up chewing off the zipper and tearing the fish apart, which forced us to discard it. The package was supposed to contain two items, but we only received one. I did get a refund.
