This toy was fantastic⌠while it lasted. I got the sparrow for my cat in April, but by the end of June, the sound stopped workingâit only lasted two months. The batteries aren’t replaceable unless you want to risk cutting it open and ruining it. The toy itself is still in perfect condition, and my cat is gentle with it. Such a disappointment.

We have two cats, Jynx and Tux, and to provide them with extra stimulation, we purchased two of these little red bird toys. It’s entertaining to watch Tux, our adopted cat who was an outdoor cat until a few months ago, go wild with the red bird. He tosses it in the air, swats it across the room, tackles it, and does his best to “devour” it.
So far, it has only lost one red feather, and he plays pretty aggressively. We also bought a container of catnip and keep the spare toy stored in the catnip container. Every few days, we swap one out for the one thatâs been infused with catnip.

However, it is quite loud, so while your cat will love it, we have to stash it away in a drawer at night because the noise carries throughout the house.
