Assembling the unit was fairly straightforward, but I struggled a bit with the USB port. It took me a few minutes to realize that the port is tucked away inside the battery compartment on the underside of the unit. This seems like a design oversight that might be fixed in future models. Another downside is that the unit doesn’t have an internal battery to hold a charge, so it stops working as soon as you unplug it. I spent some time figuring out that there wasn’t a hidden rechargeable battery, which is a bit disappointing since I’m trying to minimize my battery purchases. Keeping it plugged in is also tricky with my kitten who loves to chew, along with the big cats that play rough. On the positive side, the toy is well-made and sturdy. It does entertain two of my cats, although the noise from the popping feather is a turn-off for the others. I also had a non-performance issue and reached out to customer service, who responded quickly and were very helpful. Overall, this product is great, and their customer service is impressive. Five stars!

I adopted Gwendalyn, who is just over a year old, about a month ago. She’s still adjusting and has tons of energy. I have plenty of toys for her, but she hasn’t quite figured out how to play independently. While this is manageable during the day, it becomes challenging at 3 AM! So, I decided to look into interactive toys. Gwen enjoys string toys and hunting for her toys, so I thought this toy would be ideal—and it truly is! She adores it! In fact, whenever she hears the beep when I turn it off, she comes running and whining. What started as a nighttime toy has now become a 24/7 fixture in our home.
You will need 4 AA batteries, which is fine, but keep in mind it’s not rechargeable. There’s an option to plug it into the wall, but that means the toy has to be near an outlet. The toy offers four different modes, which is great. It automatically goes into standby after 5 minutes and shuts off after 2 hours (if it’s activated from standby, the timer resets). However, it doesn’t stay in place on hardwood floors, so I’ve placed it on some grippy shelf liner, which works well.
My only complaints are that when the toy is reactivated, it beeps quite loudly (especially at night while in your room). I’m not sure why it needs to beep since the toy is audible enough on its own. Also, sometimes when it switches modes, goes into standby, or turns off, the whack-a-mole piece gets stuck in the up position. I found this out when I noticed my cat dragging the toy with that piece in her mouth. It would be great if it always finished inside the toy. It would be even better if it locked in place because I can’t use the feather or the fluffy strand anymore; she easily digs them out and carries the toy around with those instead of just the worm piece.
Lastly, regarding the whack-a-mole pieces, we primarily use the “worm” piece, which is fine since she loves it and is better with it. However, if I need to replace it, I have to buy a pack containing 2 worms, 2 feathers, and 2 fluffy pieces for around $10, but I can only use 2 of the 6 items. I wish there was an option to purchase individual pieces to avoid wasting money.
Despite these minor gripes, this toy is fantastic and reasonably priced. Gwen genuinely enjoys it and finds it both fun and soothing, which makes me appreciate it even more. I highly recommend it!

I’ve been away more often lately, and my cat hasn’t been too happy about it. He has a lot of energy, so I was on the lookout for something to keep him entertained. For the first couple of days, he was solely focused on the butterfly feature. However, within a week, he started playing with the popping feathers, and soon after, he began batting at the balls in the center as well.
He absolutely loves this toy and has become quite attached to it, which is perfect for when I need to get things done around the house. I really appreciate the four different modes, especially the last one, which is motion-activated and can run for several hours before shutting off if not touched.
I like that I have the choice between charging it or using batteries. I opted for batteries, and it’s working perfectly. The quality seems much better than other interactive cat toys I’ve purchased in the past.
My cat is so enamored with this toy that I’ve had to put it away in the closet at night to give him a break! This toy has truly met my needs for keeping him entertained and content. I highly recommend it!
