After 15 years of taking our Maltipoo to the groomers, I was informed that they no longer wanted to cut his hair since he has become blind and gets scared easily. This prompted me to attempt cutting his hair myself, which I’m grateful for!
I spent time researching and watching videos before trying out these clippers, and I’m thrilled with the results. I started the very next day, taking my time and beginning at the back, trimming just a little at a time. I used the larger guards initially to get a feel for the clippers, gradually moving to the smaller ones until I achieved the desired length. It’s always better to start conservatively; you can take more off, but you canât put it back on!
The ThisOneIsAll Dog Clippers and Dog Paw Trimmer Kit came with everything I needed for a decent first cut. Even though I took 2 to 3 hours to learn the process, I was impressed that the battery still had over 80% charge left when I finished. Just make sure to fully charge the clippers and trimmer before your first use.
Initially, I was nervous about cutting my dogâs hair, but having cut my own hair for the last two years made it easier for me to adapt to these clippers quickly. They operate very similarly. The low noise level of the clippers didnât bother my dog at all, making the actual cutting quite straightforward.
The trimmers will require more time for both me and my dog to adjust, as most dogs donât enjoy having their paws handled. Patience is key, especially when trimming sensitive areas like the face, eyes, ears, and genitals. Sometimes itâs best to take breaks for both you and your dogâthereâs no need to rush.
The included scissors and comb are excellent. Make sure to bathe your dog and dry him thoroughly before starting and remove any knots first. The comb was very helpful for detangling; I used it gently from the top of the knot downwards until it was removed, and I was able to comb through easily. Once there are no knots, youâre ready to start saving money by grooming at home!
Remember to keep the clippers and trimmers clean and well-oiled; you may want to purchase additional clipper oil as these should last a long time. I can’t think of anything that would improve this kit, maybe just a pair of curved scissors!

I was initially hesitant to order this grooming set, but the positive reviews reassured me. People mentioned it was quiet with minimal vibration and that it performed well. Given that the price was less than half of what I would pay for a single grooming session for my two small dogs, I decided to take the plunge. Iâm amazed at how well it worked; it’s already paid for itself multiple times after just one use.
The trimmers are lightweight, comfortable to hold, and vibrate gently, which didn’t seem to disturb my dogs. They arenât completely silent, but even my noise-sensitive dog didnât mind. Before I started, I watched a video by a professional groomer since I was nervous and inexperienced. I tested the trimmers on my hand first, and they only vibrated, which gave me the confidence that they would be safe for my dogs.
I began with my easier dog, a Shihpoo, and tackled the hair between her paw pads first. To my surprise, she relaxed and even took a nap while I worked on her paws; the hair just fell away. She has one ticklish foot, yet she didn’t flinch at all! I then placed her on my laundry counter (while keeping a hand on her) and used the 9mm trimmer for a longer cut on her back, sides, legs, and belly. It worked beautifully! I followed up with the 6mm for her hind sanitary area, tidied around her feet, and finished her eyes with the small trimmer. I also trimmed her tail with scissors, and the whole grooming session took about 20 minutes. I had a brush and comb handy while grooming.
Next, I moved on to my two-year-old Maltipoo, who is quite the wiggler. I expected him to be a challenge, but he surprisingly stayed calm while I trimmed his paw pads. It was actually quite funny to watch him as his hair fell away. I followed the same routine for his back, legs, tummy, and sanitary areas, and within 20 minutes, he was also looking fantastic!
This grooming kit was incredibly easy to use, and Iâm so glad I purchased it. The best part is that I can maintain their cute, slightly longer teddy bear cuts and easily trim them again in a month, instead of waiting 10 weeks and spending over $200 at the groomer, who always shaves them down despite my requests for longer styles. Overall, this set has been a great investment, and I hope my experience helps you make a decision!

I own multiple pairs of Oster clippers and around 50 different blades. However, this small clipper outperforms them all. It’s lightweight and easily held its charge while doing a poodle cut. The blade is sharp, and the combs fit perfectly. Given the price of this clipper, I could have purchased just one Oster blade. I was so impressed that I also bought the 8 in 1 model. I haven’t tried it yet, but Iâll share my thoughts on it once I do.
