This product didn’t work out for me or my cats. It wasn’t terrible, but it certainly didn’t impress. The fit around my door frames was awkward, which was surprising since thatās what itās designed for. The support mechanisms felt flimsy, and after just a few minutes, it came down with a light tug.
My cats showed little interest. I tried everythingādangling, bouncing itābut my tuxedo cat only gave it a few swats before walking away, and the others completely ignored it. I even adjusted it to wiggle like their usual toys, but they just weren’t responsive.
Given that at least one of my cats usually engages with everything, this was disappointing. I had to drop a star for their lack of interest and another for the poor fit and cheap feel of the product.

This toy has become one of my cat’s all-time favorites! Since we only have one cat, it’s great that he can enjoy it on his own. The mice do tend to come off after a bit of use, but given the low price of the toy, I donāt mind at all. We just attach hair ties to the end of the elastic, and he goes wild with it! The elastic is still intact; itās just the mice that fall off after a while. I havenāt tried the metal clamp since we have an o-ring mounted in our door frame, so I canāt comment on its effectiveness.

Just a note: my door trims are quite large, but this fits over them perfectly, which was my main concern. Our new kitten is incredibly energetic and loves to run and play. She enjoys chasing things around, so I was curious to see if she would be interested in this toy. I hung it from a beam in the center of the room and positioned the mouse high enough to encourage her to jump for it.
Once it was set up, I gave it a gentle push. She leaped for it but missed completely. After a few attempts, she managed to catch it about one out of three jumps. She played with it for over an hour straight, and when she finally finished, she would collapse on the floor, completely exhausted. Within a week, her success rate improved to about three out of four jumps. This toy really helped her develop her skills in grabbing moving objects.
Interestingly, we had a bat get into the house, but we couldnāt locate it. During the night, she managed to catch it mid-air and left it on the floor for us. It’s no easy feat to catch a bat in flight!
Eventually, she broke the elastic and ran off with the mouse. When we found it, I simply tied it back on. She broke it four or five times before it became too worn out to repair.
TIP: Remove the eyes before giving it to your cat. It may look a bit creepy without them, but the cat won’t mind, and the eyes can pose a choking hazard. They are hard plastic with a pointed end, so it’s best to keep them away from your cat’s mouth.

I have two playful cats, aged 3 and 4, and I purchased this toy with the younger one in mind. Heās very active and tends to get restless, loving interactive and “fishing pole” style toys. This toy has been a massive hit with him! My older cat was initially curious too, but he seems a bit intimidated by how wildly his brother plays with it.
Weāve had it for just under three weeks now, and my 3-year-old cat (as seen in the picture) plays with it several times a day. Sometimes he just lays underneath it and bats at it, but he also loves to carry the mouse around, even dragging it 15+ feet away before letting it spring back. Just a tip: hang it in a doorway without any fragile items nearby, as it can bounce back quite vigorously! A few times, Iāve had to retrieve it when it got caught on door hinges or nearby objects.
I did encounter the same issue as others mentionedāmost doorways are too wide for the top part to grip securely. However, I hung it slightly sideways on part of the door frame, and it has stayed in place without any problems, even with my cat dragging the mouse around and letting it bounce back with force.
This is definitely going to be a go-to gift for anyone I know with a playful young cat. One thing to note: if your cat plays as energetically as mine, the mouse will start to show wear over time. I noticed this happening and ordered a 2-pack for backup. After nearly two months of use, the elastic cord near the mouse broke, so I replaced it. I might add a few stitches to the new ones to help keep the fabric covering from coming off the rattle-y plastic base since, had it stayed intact, I could have just re-tied the elastic. Despite needing regular replacements, I still rate this a 5/5 star cat toy for the price and the enrichment it provides!
