I love buying new toys for my 10-year-old cat, hoping she’ll finally play with something other than her tail, wrapping paper, and my hair ties. Unfortunately, she seems to prefer items that aren’t meant for her, but I keep trying. Recently, my mom got a new 5-year-old cat, so I decided to get some crinkle balls and split them between the two. I purchased the 12-count pack, which includes four purple and green balls, four red and gold, and four green and gold. Each ball is about 1.5 inches in diameter and made of mylar, giving them a crinkly plastic feel. I noticed some reviewers mentioned the colors bleed when wet, so I tested it, and mine did lose a bit of color. However, my cat usually doesn’t bring toys near her water bowl, so I’m not too worried.
When I first introduced the balls to my cat, she sniffed them, batted one around for a moment, and then quickly lost interest. In contrast, my mom’s cat has been much more enthusiastic, batting and chasing them. My cat often behaves like a kitten, but I suspect she knows I spent money on these toys and is ignoring them just to spite me. Regardless, I’m glad I bought them, as I can tell when she’s played with one because it ends up in a different spot. This only happens when no one is watching, of course.
Overall, I think these crinkle balls are a fantastic toy for cats. Even though my cat hasn’t shown much interest, my mom’s cat really enjoys them, so I still consider this purchase a success. The price for the number of balls in the pack is reasonable, and I definitely recommend them, as most cats go wild for crinkle balls, so yours will likely love them too!

When we returned, all the hidden balls had been found, and he was a very happy kitty.
They came in a simple resealable plastic bag and took up little space despite being a pack of 12. The balls are crinkly yet flexible, allowing him to comfortably pick them up. They’re also surprisingly durable; I haven’t seen any damage to them so far. If they do wear out eventually, I’ll definitely be ordering another pack.
